We originally built this part in 1993 out of necessity. I was doing the F.I. conversion on my Turbo car and needed the room for my air filter. As I was doing Coil-Overs in the rear at the same time it seemed wise to strengthen that area as well. There you have it. It also turns out that it makes changing your oil so much easier (You Tii owners know what I mean) it is almost worth it for that alone.
Since that time we have sold hundreds of these kits for 2002, E21 320i and 323i, and our newest addition for the 2800-3500 Coupe. These are all complete kits requiring minimal mechanical skills to install. It comes with a complete hardware and electrical package. It comes finished in a satin black paint. The 320i 80-83 kit is also available with an Air Filter Upgrade kit that includes a 3" inlet K&N Air filter and a cold air induction pipe to eliminate the stock air box.
