Nissan 240SX and Altima

TURBOCHARGER SYSTEM

We have installed this system on both single and twin cam 240SX’s and FWD ALTIMAS with equal success. The DOHC engine definitely pulls harder above 5500 rpm but in real world performance and driveability there is very little difference between them. The Altima is a heavy car but is still capable of mid 13 sec times.Traction remains the only problem on both the RWD and FWD cars. Slicks and a locked rear end with decent suspension travel gives easy high 12 sec times.

We do not offer these conversions as kits. It is a complicated process with a fair amount of fabrication involved that the average home mechanic or even repair shop will not be comfortable with or even able to do.

The stock engine is very sturdy but due to the very lightweight cast factory pistons it is not suitable for turbocharging without the addition of forged pistons and Total-Seal rings. The auxiliary fuel system is a must. The car goes dead lean above 6 psi boost and 6000 rpm. It is bordering on dangerously lean anywhere above 4 psi. We will offer many of the individual components for those of you that want to do your own plumbing and fabrication. These prices are listed on the second page.

 

Engine:

·        JE forged 8.2:1 piston set.  Total-Seal Piston rings

·        New Connecting rod bearings. Stock Connecting rods race prepped and new rod bolts installed

·        Oil pump modified for more oil pressure

·        Cylinder head TURBO ported.   Exhaust valves high heat coated

·        3 angle valve job. Heavy duty valve seals

·        Secondary butterfly system removed

·        Camshaft(s) ground to TURBO specs.

·        All new gaskets

 

Fuel System:

·        Factory Fuel-Injection retained in place and fully functional

·        4 auxiliary fuel injectors added to intake manifold with custom fuel rail assembly

or

2 auxillary injectors added in inlet pipe

·        HALTECH auxiliary fuel injector controller.   Additional Bosch inline TURBO fuel pump

·        Rising rate boost referenced fuel pressure regulator

 

Turbocharger System:

·        Top-End T3/T4 hybrid turbocharger assembly.  

·        Dual Pressure port wastegate assembly

·        Spearco intercooler core with custom tanks

·        Top-End custom intercooler plumbing

·        Block breather rail for proper crankcase ventilation

·        Compressor bypass valve.  

·        Dial-A-Boost variable boost controller

Optional electronic boost controller. Add $395.00

·        2.5” exhaust system with Walker Ultra-Flo muffler

·        TEP Pro-Grip Turbo clutch assembly installed and flywheel surfaced and lightened.
